The Best Hills to Hike Near Cheltenham

Autumn is officially here and with summer’s warm air turning into a fresh October breeze, it’s time to bust out the sweaters and enjoy the outdoors before the winter cold moves in. Here are some of the best hills to hike up on a sunny autumn day.

Crickley Hill

Located near Ullenwood, Crickley Hill makes for a lovely hike with spectacular views of Cheltenham when you get to the top. There is even a little cafe at the top where you can take a rest and enjoy a hot drink.

Cleeve Hill

Cleeve Hill is one of the highest points in the Cotswolds and makes for a great hike. Sitting at 1,083 feet above ground, you’ll want to put your runners on for this one. It’s also a great place to stop and have an afternoon picnic.

Malvern Hills

Stretching across Herefordshire, Worcestershire and parts of northern Gloucestershire, this large range of hills provides breathtaking panorama views of the Severn Valley.

Leckhampton Hill

Sitting at 961 feet, Leckhampton Hill makes for a great afternoon hike with plenty of rare plants and animals to see along the way. Once you’ve reached the top, you can also find the Devil’s Chimney, a limestone rock formation said to be from the 18th century.
